We invite you to join us for the Fifth Ward Enrichment Program’s 16th Annual OUR BOYS MATTER: “Changing Men, Changing Lives” Luncheon scheduled for Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Junior League of Houston.
For more than 33 years, the Fifth Ward Enrichment Program, Inc. (FWEP), a community-based, youth development and empowerment program has continuously demonstrated its ability to impart transformational impact on some of Houston’s most under-served young men. FWEP’s mission is to empower boys to become responsible men and productive members of their families and community. FWEP’s holistic approach to youth development and mentorship has removed barriers and inspired the lives of more than 10,000 inner-city young men.
This year we will celebrate how positive mentoring experiences affect both the mentor and the mentee. Five men from all walks of life living in the Greater Houston community will be honored and will join us for a “conversation on the couch” experience to share how their mentorship experiences have shaped subsequent behaviors, helped them grow as men and developed their leadership acumen. Also, legendary businessman and former two-time World Heavyweight Champion, Mr. George Foreman, Sr., will receive the “Ernest McMillan Lifetime Achievement Award” for his dedication to fostering opportunities for disadvantaged youth and his demonstrated leadership as an entrepreneur, successful athlete, and minister. We are confident event attendees will leave inspired to join the Fifth Ward Enrichment Program in its commitment to transform the lives of young men.
The success of this event heavily relies on our ability to develop strong partnerships. We hope you will partner with us and consider a leadership investment as an event sponsor to help us deliver the message that OUR BOYS MATTER.
