2012
Dear Friends,
The Fifth Ward Enrichment Program (FWEP) will host its 14th Annual - Heart of Houston luncheon on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m at the Junior League of Houston, Inc. This year’s honoree is John Montgomery, the founder of Bridgeway Capital Management and the Bridgeway family of domestic equity mutual funds. The firm has a high-energy, mission focused, and unique philanthropic culture. Since inception in 1993, Bridgeway has differentiated itself in the marketplace through financial stewardship, servant leadership, and a policy of donating half its profits to not-for-profit organizations. John is board chairman of both Bridgeway's affiliated foundation, which has a core mission of peacemaking, reconciliation and ending genocide and the British organization, Aegis Trust. We are delighted that Jerome Gray, last year’s honoree, will serve as our Master of Ceremonies this year.
For more than 27 years, the Fifth Ward Enrichment Program has provided services and programs designed to empower boys to become responsible men and productive members of their families and community – like John Montgomery. We invite you to support the Fifth Ward Enrichment Program as a sponsor of the Heart of Houston event, which recognizes individuals for their tremendous commitment to Houston and its citizens. Previous recipients include former Houston Mayor Lee P. Brown, Houston Texans owner-president, Bob McNair, State Representative Sylvester Turner, Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell and City Attorney Anthony Hall.
We thank you in advance and look forward to your continued support of the Fifth Ward Enrichment Program. Please contact Connie Whipple at 713.229.8353 for additional information.
